Han's Laser and Institute of Semiconductor Manufacturing Research, Shenzhen University (ISMR) signed a strategic cooperation agreement.

On November 2, 2020, Han's Laser and Institute of Semiconductor Manufacturing Research, Shenzhen University (ISMR) signed a strategic cooperation agreement. Focusing on semiconductor manufacturing and other fields, the two parties will give full play to their advantages in talents, products, technologies and other resources, jointly explore and develop semiconductor equipment and processes, and jointly build a platform for collaborative innovation and scientific research.

Academician Wang Xujin, Dean of Institute of Semiconductor Manufacturing Research, Shenzhen University (ISMR) and Full-time Distinguished Professor of Shenzhen University, Guo Dengji, Deputy Dean of Institute of Semiconductor Manufacturing Research, Shenzhen University (ISMR), Associate Professor Peng Taijiang, Assistant Professor Lu Yanjun; Wang Jin, Vice President of Han's Laser, General Manager of Precision Welding Division, Zhu Dengchuan, Deputy General Manager of Precision Welding Division, Li Jianfeng, Head of Mobile Phone Component Project Center of Precision Welding Division, Shi Danguo, Head of Soldering Project Center of Precision Welding Division, Luo Youhui, Head of Light Source R&D Platform of Precision Welding Division, and Dr. Fang Zhiqiang attended the signing ceremony. Dr. Song Lu presided over the meeting.

With this contract, Han’s Laser will be able to conduct joint R&D and in-depth cooperation with ISMR, integrating the technical research and human resources of ISMR with the hardware equipment and industrial advantages of Han’s Laser in semiconductor manufacturing and other fields to solve major national needs, break through industrial development bottlenecks, develop key & core technologies with deep national, industrial, and corporate benefits, and strengthen technology and equipment leadership through collaborative operations and joint innovation. In addition, Han’s Laser will actively expand the areas of cooperation and promote the in-depth development of strategic cooperation.

Both parties held in-depth discussions, introduced the comprehensive advantages of enterprises and universities in semiconductor manufacturing, discussed the status quo and trends of industrial development, and clarified the main and phased goals of cooperation.

ISMR

In response to the "soft-hard/hard-soft (strong design/weak manufacturing)" status of China’s semiconductor industry, Shenzhen University established the Institute of Semiconductor Manufacturing Research in 2019, relying on the College of Mechatronics and Control Engineering to focus on the research and development of semiconductor "Key & Core" manufacturing technology. Based on Shenzhen and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, it gives full play to the production-university-research mechanism, directly serve the domestic semiconductor manufacturing industry, and solve the country's urgent needs.
